Greetings, aspiring authors!
If you're looking at this page, that means you've considered writing at some point in your life or you already have a project already in the works - maybe even completed. AWESOME! You're in the right place.
What's all this ruckus about?
I've received a lot of emails over the years, asking me questions about publishing, friends and family included. I'm always happy to help, if I can.
I've been writing all my life, but it wasn't until 2012 that I started seriously considering publishing, and that was only because I had a partner in crime to share the experience with. Writing makes us vulnerable and sharing what we write with strangers to judge us as they like can be petrifying. Reviews . . . don't even get me started on the sick feeling I get right before I check reviews after release day.
I've worked on a few series, and the vulnerability never really goes away, yet having a group of authors who understand what I'm going through is the best gift I think an author can ask for, aside from supportive readers. My husband thinks he gets it, but in reality, he tries but how could he? Other writers and authors can relate because they're drenched in the crazy and ever-changing world alongside us, letting their guards down, learning, trying to keep up, jumping over hurdles . . .
While I am by no means an expert in any way, shape, or form when it comes to the writing craft or the publishing world, I have learned a thing or two over the years.
When readers reach out, expressing their love for writing, there dreams of becoming an author if they could only finish a project, or wishing they only knew how to publish, I always want to help them. But, I can't help everyone, no matter how much I'd like to. I truly mean that. I wish I had enough time to spend with fellow writers who I can empathize with on so many levels.
That's why I've created this group. It's a free, private community for aspiring authors who yearn for a community that understands their woes, supports and empathizes with them in the quest for authorship, and who can bounce ideas and experiences off of one another as needed.
So . . . what's the group?
It's intimate. It's safe. It's for writers who are serious and want to be actively involved in their journey to authorship. While I will be stopping in every now and again to help where I can and answer questions, this is a community for all of you to work together to make your dreams come true. It's for you to find the inspiration and motivation you need to finish that story.
This is a group for authors of any genre, any level of writing and/or publishing, for novelists and those of you writing fan fiction. Comment on the post or email me here if you want to be added to the group, we'd be lucky to have you! If you're already an author and have been looking for a space to share some of your advice and experiences, you're more than welcome to join, too! See ya there!
